While I am an attorney – you might say a fan of the Constitution – there are some cases that make me want to dispense with the time, trouble, and expense of a trial.   Kermit Gosnell is one of those.

He’s a barbarian.  He’s a predator.  He’s one sorry bastard that stands for the legitimacy of the death penalty.  But for the Eighth Amendment, I’d suggest a slow death penalty; one involving rusty razors and puddles of alcohol.  For starters.

Not only did he kill children, he joked about it: ‘This Baby Is Big Enough to Walk Around With Me or Walk Me to the Bus Stop.’  Funny stuff.  But pretty easy to see why he didn’t give up his day job.

Gosnell, 72, who ran a multi-million dollar abortion business in West Philadelphia, was arrested on Jan. 19, 2011, and his trial started Monday, Mar. 18, 2013. The first-degree murder counts refer to seven late-term aborted babies who were born alive and then killed, their spinal cords cut with scissors.

Gosnell is also charged with the third-degree murder of a pregnant woman, Karnamaya Mongar, 41, who died after being given a pain killer at Gosnell’s office. He also faces several counts of conspiracy and violation of Pennsylvania’s law against post-24-week abortions.

In testimony on Monday, Adrienne Moton, who used to work for Gosnell at the Women’s Medical Society in West Philadelphia, said she recalled one baby – “Baby Boy A” – who was aborted  in July 2008. Baby A was so large, Moton took a photo of the child with her cell phone before Gosnell took the baby out of the room.

“I just saw a big baby boy. He had that color, that color that a baby has,” Moton said in court. “I just felt he could have had a chance. … He could have been born any day.”

In the grand jury report from Jan. 19, 2011, it states that Baby Boy A was born to a 17-year-old girl who went to Gosnell’s office with her aunt.  Gosnell charged $2,500 for the abortion. An ultrasound conducted by Kareema Cross, who worked for Gosnell, “recorded a gestational age of 29.4 weeks,” according to the report, or about 7.5 months pregnant.

The 17-year-old girl was given the drug Cyotec to induce labor and was also “heavily sedated” over a period of 13 hours. “Eventually she gave birth to a large baby boy” and “Cross estimated that the baby was 18-19 inches long,” reads the report.

It continues: “After the baby was expelled, Cross noticed that he was breathing, though not for long. After about 10 to 20 seconds, while the mother was asleep, ‘the doctor just slit the neck,’ said Cross. Gosnell put the boy’s body in a shoebox. Cross described the baby as so big that his feet and arms hung out over the sides of the container. Cross said that she saw the baby move after his neck was cut, and after the doctor placed it in the shoebox. Gosnell told her, ‘it’s the baby’s reflexes. It’s not really moving.’”

‘House of horrors’ abortion patient testifies how she was given a heart drug to ‘illegally terminate her pregnancy at nearly 30 WEEKS’ which left her with a grapefruit-size abscess and blood clot in her heart.

A lawyer for a Philadelphia abortion provider charged with killing seven babies born alive is working to show the first death occurred in the womb.

Shayquana Abrams, who aborted that baby when she was 17, testified Wednesday at Dr. Kermit Gosnell’s murder trial.

Prosecutors believe Abrams, who is now 21 years old, was nearly 30 weeks pregnant, well beyond the 24-week limit in Pennsylvania. And the limit in Delaware, where Gosnell began the three-day procedure, is 20 weeks.

A medical assistant from Gosnell’s clinic in West Philadelphia has said the baby’s large size and pinkish color disturbed her. She says babies were routinely cut with scissors after delivery.

But defense lawyer Jack McMahon, on cross-examination, suggested that no babies survive after the drug digoxen is administered.

Records show the teen’s aunt was charged $2,750 for the procedure.

Gosnell could face the death penalty if convicted of killing seven babies and a pregnant woman who was administered too much anesthesia.

Abrams spent two hours Wednesday morning on the witness stand continuing her testimony from the day before about the July, 12, 2008, late-term abortion that sent her to the hospital for two weeks with complications, including an abscess the size of a grapefruit in her right side and a blood clot in her heart, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Mr Bolden told US lawmakers that prayer was all that the US or anyone could currently do about unknown asteroids and meteors that may be on a collision course with Earth.

An asteroid estimated to be have been about 55 feet (17 metres) in diameter exploded on Feb 15 over Chelyabinsk, Russia, generating shock waves that shattered windows and damaged buildings. More than 1,500 people were injured.

Later that day, a larger, unrelated asteroid discovered last year passed about 17,200 miles (27,681 km) from Earth, closer than the network of television and weather satellites that ring the planet.

Abortion Doc Kermit Gosnell Joked as He Snipped Babies’ Spinal Cords

The guy’s a real comedian . . .

“This is a targeted, elitist and racist prosecution of a doctor who’s done nothing but give (back) to the poor and the people of West Philadelphia,” the fiery McMahon insisted to the predominantly black jury, as Gosnell sat serenely taking notes. “It’s a prosecutorial lynching of Dr. Kermit Gosnell.”

“Racist”? According to the same Grand Jury report, Gosnell made no bones about treating suburban white women with money differently than inner city women of color, who were poor.

A few weeks ago Tara Murtha of the Philadelphia Weekly ran a piece that channeled McMahon’s demagoguery. But even Murtha conceded

“As a former worker in Gosnell’s clinic told the grand jury, Gosnell, a rich black man, treated poor brown and black patients differently than middle-class white patients. From the [Grand Jury] report: ‘Like if a girl — the black population was — African population was big here. So he didn’t mind [having clinic workers] medicating your African-American girls, your Indian girl, but if you had a white girl from the suburbs, oh, you better not medicate her. You better wait until he go in and talk to her first.’”

How about  “giving back” to the community? There is no evidence he did, but Gosnell certainly had plenty if he had so chosen. The prosecution says he made millions aborting babies, many of whom were well past the point of viability. (Assistant District Attorney Joanne Pescatore told jurors  that police found $250,000 in cash during a 2010 search of Gosnell’s home.)

A medical assistant told a jury Tuesday that she snipped the spines of at least 10 babies during unorthodox late-term abortions at a West Philadelphia clinic.

Adrienne Moton’s testimony as part of her guilty plea to third-degree murder, came in the capital murder trial of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, the clinic owner, who is on trial in the deaths of a patient and seven babies.

Prosecutors accuse him of killing late-term, viable babies after they were delivered alive, in violation of state abortion laws.

Gosnell’s lawyer denies the murder charge and disputes that any babies were born alive. He also challenges the gestational age of the aborted fetuses, calling them inexact estimates.

Moton, the first employee to testify, sobbed as she recalled taking a cell phone photograph of one baby left in her work area. She thought he could have survived, given his size and pinkish color. She had measured him at nearly 30 weeks.  ‘The aunt felt it was just best for her [the mother’s] future,’ Moton testified.

Gosnell later joked that the baby was so big he could have walked to the bus stop, she said.

Let’s make Kim Jon Un a US Citizen

I bet Obama would do something then.

The current Supreme Ruler of the prison camp known as North Korea is a psychopath.  He has nuclear weapons.  He has threatened to attack the United States, going so far as to produce videos that show his military might targeted at the White House and the U.S. Capitol.  Obama ignores him.  Bad call; in a growing list of bad calls.

Granted, the videos would get a high school freshman a low “C” in the good old US of A, but the last time I recall a mediocre video . . . let’s see – no, not the George Clooney movie – oh, yes it was that poor slob in California who cobbled together a silly little bit of celluloid making fun of Mohammed.  I think that guy’s still in jail.

This is the same Obama who used his gun-running Attorney General to say that the President, in his own unilateral discretion, has the right to kill US Citizens on US soil if he deems them to be a threat.  Hmmm.

Kim Jon Un has nuclear weapons.  He’s a madman who comes from a long line of madmen.  He is currently threatening the United States with the weapons he possesses.  Now I know the fat boy from North Korea needs a butt whooping as well as a new barber.  But do we have to make him a US Citizen to get Obama to take him out?

Today is the second day in the trial of Kermit Gosnell, the infamous Philadelphia abortionist charged with murdering seven newborn babies and one young woman in a botched abortion due to overdose of anesthesia. Gosnell killed the babies with scissors after they had been born – and he wasn’t the only one.

Adrienne Moton, a former employee of Gosnell, testified for the prosecution. CBS Philadelphia reported her testimony:

“Adrienne Moton broke down several times as she recounted her work at the clinic.

Untrained, she says, she was doing ultrasounds and administering anesthesia within months.  

And eventually, she has admitted, she snipped the necks of ‘a good ten’ fetuses.”

Kermit Gosnell’s “house of horrors,” otherwise known as the Philadelphia Women’s Medical Society, has been well documented, but Gosnell’s defense attorney, Jack McMahon, says that the prosecution is racially motivated.

“This is a targeted, elitist and racist prosecution of a doctor who’s done nothing but give (back) to the poor and the people of West Philadelphia…It’s a prosecutorial lynching of Dr. Kermit Gosnell.”

McMahon’s defense of Gosnell is an outrage. Worlds away from a benevolent community doctor, prosecutors say that police found $250,000 when they raided Gosnell’s home – and for those who can stomach it, the 281-page Grand Jury report lays out just how Gosnell “gave back” to the women of West Philadelphia:

The premises were dirty and unsanitary. Gosnell routinely relied on unlicensed and untrained staff to treat patients, conduct medical tests, and administer medications without supervision. Even more alarmingly, Gosnell instructed unlicensed workers to sedate patients with dangerous drugs in his absence… In addition, he regularly performed abortions beyond the 24-week limit prescribed by law. As a result, viable babies were born. Gosnell killed them by plunging scissors into their spinal cords. He taught his staff to do the same.

Not only did abortion practitioner Kermit Gosnell snip the spines of babies he killed in his gruesome live-birth abortion process, an abortion clinic worker who worked for him admitted today she did too.

Gosnell is charged with more than 30 criminal counts including the killing of seven newborn infants and a female patient in a botched abortion. Day one of the trial took place yesterday with opening statements and AP has more on an interesting revelation that came to light today.

Hillary acts like a Republican.

Like Senator Portman, she’s flip-flopped on gay “marriage.”

Saying that “gay rights are human rights,’’ Hillary Rodham Clinton, the former secretary of state and potential 2016 presidential candidate, has endorsed same-sex marriage.

“I believe America is at its best when we champion the freedom and dignity of every human being,’’ Mrs. Clinton said in a video posted Monday on the Internet by the Human Rights Campaign, a gay rights advocacy group. Her announcement comes as the Supreme Court is about to hear two landmark gay rights cases that advocates hope will make same-sex marriage legal in all 50 states.

Mrs. Clinton’s announcement represents a switch in position; as a presidential candidate in 2008, she explicitly opposed same-sex marriage, saying that she favored civil unions but that decisions about the legality of marriage should be left to the states. (Until last year, President Obama took that position as well; the president now favors a right to marriage for gay couples.)

We’re certain this has nothing – nothing at all to do with the next round of presidential primaries.  Maybe she could pick Portman as her running mate.  But who would be the guy?
