When victim status is the most sought after credential, we can not be surprised when everyone seeks to incorporate that into the public resume. We used to tell people that being a victim (of whatever) could be overcome; that it was something that happened to you, not something that defines you. But this new class of “victim” desires – make that, craves – to be identified as one with the supposed slight. The result is a generation of the emotionally blind, crippled, and castrated. Sadly, they wouldn’t have it any other way. And feeding the beast only makes it hungrier.

CNN jumped on the Jussie Smollett hate hoax without any concern that the bizarre story was some weird stunt by an unhinged attention-seeking actor.
Last night after police announced charges against Jussie Smollett CNN host Don Lemon was totally distraught.
Lemon told his guests he doesn’t think it’s Jussie Smollett’s fault that he already lost in the “court of public opinion.” Lemon then went on to praise Robin Roberts for her fluff interview with the Hollywood hoaxer.
